Hook Line & Sinker
I grew up in the Hospitality Industry. My parents bought a hotel in 1976 and moved our family to Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Growing up, I helped at the hotel and loved working with the public. In high school and college, I changed it up and worked in the food and beverage industry. After seeing how much I loved the food and beverage business, my parents asked me to open a restaurant at the hotel that had been closed for years. In 1986, I opened the Hook Line & Sinker. I served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catered on and off premise functions, and serviced the meeting rooms.
Through the years, I employed many great chefs who taught me a lot. Together we created delicious menus and dishes like our Mixed Grill of Mahi Mahi, Shrimp & Scallops. One of my favorites is the Oysters Rockefeller with seasoned spinach and Hollandaise sauce. Another local favorite was Cajun Shrimp over Cheesy Grits. I was thrilled when Bon Appetit Magazine contacted me for the recipe.
