A landmark teenage drive-in in Georgetown, SC. Back in the day, the Whistling Pig was “the place to go”! Although the Whistling Pig is no more, their Hotdog Chili will live on forever!

Whistling Pig Hotdog Chili
A landmark teenage drive-in in Georgetown, SC. Back in the day, the Whistling Pig was “the place to go”! Although the Whistling Pig is no more, their Hotdog Chili will live on forever!
Ingredients
- 2# Ground Beef
- 1 cup Water
- 1 stick Butter
- 1/3 cup Ketchup
- 1/2 cup Onions, minced
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 cup Chili Powder
Let's Get Started
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet, breaking up chunks as it cooks
- Drain grease
- Add remaining ingredients
- Simmer on low for 2 hours
Yields 5 cups
Enjoy and reminisce!
If you are caught without ketchup, onions, and chili powder you can substitute 3/4 cup of your favorite bottled BBQ sauce (although, then, it will not be the Whistling Pig hotdog chili, but it will still be delicious!).
