A landmark teenage drive-in in Georgetown, SC. Back in the day, the Whistling Pig was “the place to go”! Although the Whistling Pig is no more, their Hotdog Chili will live on forever!

Whistling Pig Hotdog Chili

A landmark teenage drive-in in Georgetown, SC. Back in the day, the Whistling Pig was “the place to go”! Although the Whistling Pig is no more, their Hotdog Chili will live on forever!

Ingredients

  • 2# Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 cup Ketchup
  • 2T Mustard
  • 1/2 cup Onions, minced
  • 2T Sugar
  • 2T Vinegar
  • 2T Worstershire

Let's Get Started

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet, breaking up chunks as it cooks
  • Drain grease
  • Add remaining ingredients
  • Simmer on low for 2 hours

Yields 5 cups

Enjoy and reminisce!

If you are caught without ketchup, mustard, and/or sugar, you can substitute 2 cups of your favorite bottled BBQ sauce (although, then, it will not be the Whistling Pig hotdog chili, but it will still be delicious!).
