Asian Lettuce Wraps

Nutritious & Delicious

Easy Peasy Asian Lettuce Wraps are delicious, nutritious, and bursting with flavor; so much so that they can become addicting. The silky bibb leaves are filled with savory meats, crunchy veggies, and drizzled with Yum Yum sauce to finish them off. These scrumptious goodies are a great idea for a quick dinner during a busy week or can be dazzling appetizers to share with friends.

Our “Go To, Easy Peasy” Dinner

My husband, Hugger, and I love fun and easy meals. Hugger has been retired for years, but now works a few hours a week at our local Palmetto Ace Home Center. Hugger is considered the “Grill Master” at the store. Since he started working in that department, he has learned how to grill really well. Now he is trying to spread his wings on other recipes that don't require grilling.

I introduced him to this recipe, and now it's one of our “go to, easy peasy” dinners.

Chicken, Pork, Beef, Turkey, Lamb, or a Combination of All

This recipe is so versatile, it's your choice. I like to use ground pork in my Asian Lettuce Wraps, but you can choose any ground meat you like – ground chicken, turkey, pork, beef, lamb, or a combination of two or more. This recipe is very basic and that’s what makes it “Easy Peasy”, but you can add more crunchy veggies (shredded cabbage, red bell peppers strips, thinly sliced celery, matchstick carrots) to the cooked mixture or load them raw on top when building the wrap. This is totally up to you, and to your taste.

Now is a good time to PIN this post, so you can easily refer back to it at any time.

After you have tried this tasty dish, let me know what you think in the comments below.

Fill each bibb lettuce leaf with a heaping tablespoon of mixture. Drizzle with Yum Yum sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onion.

ENJOY!

Looks yummy. Since I am a vegetarian, I'll probably use cottage cheese instead of meat. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Thanks you for your comment. Your vegetarian idea of using cottage cheese is a good one. You can also use sauteed mushrooms, tofu, chickpeas, quinoa, or a mixture of your favorite veggies.

I’m always looking for new healthier dinner options, so I’ll have to try this. I’m a sucker for Asian food & that Yum Yum sauce! I always buy my yum yum sauce at the store, so I’ll have to pin this for when I decide to make it myself!

Great recipe. I would use tofu or vegan meat and make a few tweaks to the sauce since I am vegan. I appreciate how easily this recipe can be adapted for vegetarians, vegans, or those who cannot have dairy. Excited to try it! Thanks.
